Las Vegas Tourist Attractions
With so many Las Vegas tourist attractions to choose from you will never run out of things to see and do. The hard part will be trying to fit in as much as you can in the brief time you have in Vegas. It's best to try and lump together attractions in the same area to maximize your time, allowing you to see more.
Some attractions are free and others require a fee. Attractions vary in cost but all offer Vegas style excitement. You can experience everything from virtual-reality simulator rides, thrilling roller coasters and erupting volcanoes all in one destination.
Animal lovers can see Chilean flamingos, ducks, swans, goldfish and turtles at the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat located at The Flamingo Hotel. Visit the Mirage to see the Dolphin Habitat, go to the MGM Grand to see The Lion Habitat or check out Mandalay Bay's Shark Reef.
Want excitement? Three of the highest rides in the world are located 100 stories above the ground at the Stratosphere. America's largest indoor theme park is the Adventuredome located at Circus Circus and it has 21 rides and attractions. Go up a 50-story replica of the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas for a panoramic view of Vegas.
What to do in Las Vegas?
The relaxing Gondola Ride at the Venetian transports you to Italy. The half-mile ride lasts 14 minutes and each gondola seats four. Prices from $16.
Madame Tussauds Interactive Wax attraction is located inside the Venetian and features over 100 wax figures with uncanny likenesses of stars. This attraction is one of just seven in the world. Prices from $25.
The Titanic exhibit at the Luxor features more than 300 artifacts and amazing replicas from the Titanic. This is educational as well as entertaining. Prices from $27.
The Roller Coaster at New York-New York has a 144-foot drop with loops, corkscrews and hills, speeding up to 67 miles per hour. More than a million visitors ride this every year. Prices from $14.
The Auto Collections at Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino is a 125,000-square-foot exhibit where all of the cars are available for purchase. Displaying more than 300 classic cars, muscle cars, racing cars, roadsters and more. Prices from $8.95.
Free Las Vegas Attractions
You don't have to spend money to be entertained in Las Vegas. One of the coolest free shows in Vegas is the Bellagio Water Fountains. Water geysers are shooting into the air to musical numbers that range from opera and Sinatra to pop and show tunes. The Forum Shops Fountain Shows at Caesars Palace features Roman statues that come to animatronics life and move and speak accompanied by lasers, water and smoke.
The Mirage Volcano is a favorite of many and this active volcano erupts with fire, lights and sound effects and can be viewed every 15 minutes after dark until midnight.
The Rio's Masquerade Village Show in the Sky is giant Mardi Gras-style floats that travel on tracks in the ceiling two stories above the floor.
See a 117,000-gallon saltwater aquarium in the Silverton Hotel. The Ethel M Chocolate Factory offers free admission and is located seven miles from the Strip. M&M's World is floors of chocolate delight. The Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo is a tropical island filled with lush foliage with winding walkways, streams and waterfalls and lagoons and ponds with more than 300 birds.
The Fremont Street Experience located in Downtown Las Vegas offers the Viva Vision canopy and light show every hour on the hour from 8:30 p.m. - midnight and the average show lasts six minutes.
